Password generator
Create strong, random passwords and passphrases. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is sent, stored, or logged.
Generated locally in your browser with a cryptographically secure random source. Nothing is transmitted or saved.
What makes a password strong
Three things matter most: length, randomness, and uniqueness. Aim for at least 16 characters, generated randomly rather than based on words or personal details, and never reuse a password across accounts — a single breach should never put your other accounts at risk.
Passwords vs. passphrases
A random password is the strongest option for accounts you let a password manager remember. A passphrase — several random words joined together — is easier for a human to type or memorise while remaining very hard to crack, which makes it a good choice for the master password of your password manager or your device login.
A note on using any online generator
This tool generates everything in your own browser and sends nothing back — but as a general habit, the safest passwords are those created by a reputable password manager you control. Treat any password shown here as yours alone, and store it in a password manager rather than anywhere it could be seen.
Strong passwords are one small part of a security programme. GICCT trains teams in the practices that protect whole organisations.
